Hello,

For one of our web solutions using the Render World shape files, while zooming to a particular level for certain areas on the map, we noticed the words that seem to be "gVgal" appear several times. On zooming out, they dissapear. We are wondering if these have any meaning or are some sort of default values in one of the shape files.

You can see an image of this at:

The area where these words appear is circled in yellow.

Thanks.

Thank you for the post.

Can you recreate the issue on our Render World Online Demo at:

http://samples.spatiallyaware.com/RenderWorldWebformsSampleApps/RenderWorldVBSample.aspx

Also where is this problem area located? We can't seem to figure it out by the provided screen shot.

The characters appear when you zoom in to the eastern part of Australia, a little to the west of Sydney. I recreated this on the Render World Online Demo.

The screenshot for this is located at:

Thanks.

Actually, it is not "gGgal", it is "gilgail" and here is the definition:
The microrelief of soils produced by expansion and contraction caused by changes in moisture. Gilgai is found in soils that contain large amounts of clay, which swells and shrinks noticeably with wetting and drying. It usually occurs as a succession of microbasins and microknolls in nearly level areas or as microvalleys and microridges parallel to the direction of the slope.

It is in the PhysicalText layer, you have access to the code, so you can choose not to display that layer or use a larger font.

Support.
