New Releases: May 26, 2009This is an exciting week for Map Suite developers. We've just refreshed our entire line of Map Suite 3.x GIS developer components, each packed with many of the new features, performance enhancements and bug fixes that you requested. Most importantly, Map Suite Desktop Edition is now available as a Release Candidate, and incorporates massive improvements to the API that will make it even easier and more powerful to work with. You can also grab Beta 2 of Map Suite Silverlight Edition, and milestone updates to Map Suite Web Edition and Services Edition.

How To Update

To get the latest version, you can download a free 60-day evaluation of any Map Suite 3.x edition from our website. If you've already purchased a full version of Map Suite, and have a current Software Assurance Plan, you can update to the latest version at our Customer Portal. Simply login with the same username and password you use to login to these forums.

What's New

Map Suite Desktop Edition 3.0.307 Release Candidate — Includes many bug fixes, plus the addition of an Events system, continuous panning for WPF, a customizable mouseMode for the map, freehand drawing mode for shapes, new APIs and properties, and lots more.

Map Suite Chief Architect David Rehagen presents this in-depth 60-minute video explaining the new features in Desktop Edition RC1.

Map Suite Silverlight Edition 3.0.304 Beta 2 — Includes a replacement for the Microsoft Deep Zoom control, smooth zooming, faster performance, API improvements, support for Value Style and Class Break renderers, GoogleOverlay support, and lots more.

Map Suite Web Edition 3.1.124 — Includes various bug fixes, optimized client printing and shape drawing, support for the ASP.NET MVC Framework, support for Web Feature Service (WFS), optimized multi-language support, and lots more.

Map Suite Services Edition 3.1.124 — Includes many bug fixes, plus support for ExecuteQuery in PostGreSQL, polygon and line simplification for AreaShapes and LineShapes, DPI support for GeoCanvas, several new APIs and overloads, and lots more.

By the way, you might notice that there isn't a detailed API change log yet for Map Suite Silverlight Edition Beta 2. This is due to certain technical limitations that we hope to have ironed out soon. Please bear with us.
