When I double click on the map, I receive a JavaScript Error "Unsupported Mode."  I only get this error when I have the map mode set to SelectMapShapes.  This can also be found in the Sample SelectMapShapesMode.aspx.

Is there a solution to ensure that the pop up does not occur?

I understand your mean, if you don't like the prompt message, I will take out it, also I think the JavaScript message is not so friendly for users. I will fix this problem and you can get the new version of web edition from the next build.
