Important Announcement For Yahoo Maps Users

Posted by ThinkGeo on 04-17-2012 04:09 PM

Yahoo has discontinued their Yahoo Maps Web Services. As a result, if you were utilizing these services through Map Suite, they will eventually stop working (if they have not already). Additionally, we will be deprecating the Yahoo Maps layer and overlay in a future version of Map Suite. We recommend that you look at transitioning to a different Map Suite base map layer such as Google, Bing or OpenStreetMap.

Greetings all,

For anyone who is using (or planned to use) Yahoo maps as part of their Map Suite application, we have an important announcement.

Yahoo has discontinued their Yahoo Maps Web Services. As a result, if you were utilizing these services through Map Suite, they will eventually stop working (if they have not already). Additionally, we will be deprecating the Yahoo Maps layer and overlay in a future version of Map Suite.

If you were relying on the Yahoo base map in your Map Suite applications, we recommend that you look at transitioning to a different Map Suite base map such as Google, Bing or OpenStreetMap. For details, check the API documentation for your specific product in the ThinkGeo Wiki.

Please feel free to post any questions you may have on this subject and we'll be glad to help.

Thanks for using Map Suite,
The ThinkGeo Team
