Introducing the ThinkGeo Blog
|
This month we're proud to announce the launch of the official ThinkGeo Blog, a new website where you can get the latest insight on GIS and GPS tracking technologies, software development and ideas.
Each week at the ThinkGeo Blog, the staff at ThinkGeo will post original articles, tips and links that will inspire your GIS development and encourage new ideas and conversation. Customers and GIS enthusiasts alike are welcome to contribute to the discussion by leaving their own comments on the blog.
"The main focus of the ThinkGeo Blog will be to allow people within the ThinkGeo organization to talk about cool topics like GIS (Geographic Information Systems), programming and mapping technologies, to name a few," writes Clint Batman, President of ThinkGeo LLC. "In addition, we also hope that the blog will engage our customers on how to utilize our technologies to implement great solutions."
Together with the official Discussion Forums, the ThinkGeo Blog is another example of ThinkGeo's commitment to building a strong, customer-oriented GIS community.
Join in the discussion today at http://blog.thinkgeo.com, and don't forget to subscribe to our RSS feed.

Map Suite Tech Tip
Building Scalable Mapping & GIS Apps with Web Services
|
With the emergence of popular online mapping applications over the past few years, more businesses are seeing a need to build mapping and GIS functionality into their own custom applications. While online services like Google Maps & Virtual Earth work well in some cases, programmers often need more control over the map data, map rendering, GIS capabilities, security and overall architecture. That's where ThinkGeo comes in!
An informative white paper penned by Clint Batman, President of ThinkGeo LLC, will show you how ThinkGeo's Map Suite products can be used to build a scalable mapping application utilizing a web service, and how to consume the web service from a client application. Take a look at the article on our website — it's accompanied by downloadable sample code in C# for both the map web service and client application.
Did this month's tech tip help your GIS development? Let us know what you thought about the white paper today by leaving your comments at the new ThinkGeo Blog!
